Cognitive assessments are essentially what we know as IQ tests. They are useful in understanding our capacity for learning, our neurological functioning and how our cognition might be impacting our school performance, work issues, mood or relationships. You may benefit from an assessment if you want to learn more about giftedness or learning difficulties, or if you have had a brain injury that has changed your thinking and memory. A cognitive assessment can also help to understand ways that we process information, which can have an effect on our mental health.
